Lead Creative Interior Designer – Commercial Design & Build

£85,000–£90,000 + Commission (Negotiable DOE)
I’m working with a highly regarded Commercial Design & Build business in London, looking to bring in an experienced Lead Creative Interior Designer.
This is a role for a talented, commercially minded creative who thrives on developing exceptional workplace environments, leading high-profile pitches and building strong client relationships. You’ll play a key part in shaping the creative direction of the business, working closely with senior leadership, clients and the wider design team to deliver innovative workplace solutions that stack up commercially.
They want someone with a genuine passion for workplace design, a strong creative vision and the confidence to lead projects from initial concept through to a successful pitch and beyond.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the creative design process across high-profile commercial office fit-out projects, from initial brief through concept development and pitch
- Developing compelling workplace design concepts that respond to client requirements and commercial objectives
- Owning major client pitches and winning over key decision-makers
- Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted creative advisor
- Providing creative direction, guidance and mentorship to the wider design team
- Working with business development, preconstruction and delivery teams so proposals are both inspiring and achievable
- Keeping on top of workplace design trends, materials, finishes and evolving client expectations
- Driving design excellence across the business, supporting its reputation and growth

Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial office design and fit-out
- At least 5 years’ experience within Commercial Design & Build (essential)
- A strong portfolio showing high-quality workplace projects and successful client pitches
- Proven experience leading creative concepts and presenting to senior-level clients
- Excellent understanding of the commercial office fit-out market and the pace of Design & Build
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop other designers
- Commercially aware and comfortable working alongside business development to help secure projects
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
